What We DoResponsible for handling real estate transactions by establishing new escrow accounts, managing funds, processing documents for closings, and completing settlements in accordance with established policies and procedures. Acts as a neutral liaison between file parties, adheres to company policy, and monitors and mitigates risk to the company.
How You’ll Contribute- Complete real estate escrow transactions by determining requirements; clearing titles; assembling, preparing, and reviewing closing documents; disbursing funds.
- Determine closing requirements by studying and clarifying buyer, seller, and lender instructions.
- Order title reports, issue title insurance, resolve title defects, and satisfy existing liens and encumbrances.
- Establish escrow accounts by depositing funds and maintaining records.
- Prepare transaction documents, complete forms and statements, and review existing documents.
- Calculate prorating taxes and interest; prepare settlement statements per lender instructions.
- Assemble closing transaction documents, review papers with parties, explain provisions, answer questions, check documents for completeness and accuracy, and obtain signatures.
- Record and file documents, prepare and distribute final closing statements and title.
- Close escrow account by balancing and disbursing funds.
- Comply with regulatory requirements and enforce company policy.
- Update job knowledge through educational opportunities and professional organization participation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 2-4 years of related experience.
- Experience directly handling escrow transactions as an escrow assistant (preferred).
- Valid licensing/certification as required by applicable state.
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the escrow/title industry field.
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office applications.
- Good client relations and organizational skills.
- Ability to write reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Detail-oriented, professional, and able to handle confidential information.
- Ability to deal with multiple types of roles such as real estate sellers, buyers, agents and brokers.
Hourly: $24.42 - $32.56
