Human Resources Supervisor
Location:
Lacey, WA
Salary Range: $80,000 - $85,000 annually
Position Summary
The Human Resources Supervisor serves as the primary support resource for all human resources functions within a distribution and operations environment. This role partners closely with leadership to support workforce planning, employee relations, compliance, payroll, benefits administration, training, performance management, and employee engagement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities Human Resources Leadership
Advise management on human resources policies, procedures, and best practices.
Partner with leadership on employee staffing needs, including direct hires and temporary workforce management.
Coordinate and oversee performance management programs to ensure expectations, evaluations, and policy guidelines are administered effectively and on schedule.
Facilitate clear and effective communication across all levels of the organization.
Supervise and support the daily activities of HR team members.
Employee Relations & Compliance
Investigate and respond to employee concerns, complaints, and workplace issues.
Provide guidance and counsel on personnel matters and conflict resolution.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
Monitor labor law updates and implement necessary policy changes.
Ensure all Form I-9 documentation is accurate and maintained appropriately.
Track new hire compliance and compensation ranges.
Administer exit interviews, analyze findings, and recommend improvements.
Payroll, Benefits & Administration
Serve as a backup resource for payroll and benefits administration.
Assist employees with benefits-related inquiries and support annual open enrollment activities.
Prepare and maintain personnel records and documentation related to employee status changes.
Maintain organizational charts and workforce data.
Complete and submit unemployment claims documentation and represent the organization during unemployment hearings when required.
Safety & Risk Management
Support workplace safety initiatives and programs.
Assist with workers' compensation administration and claim management.
Monitor workplace conditions and communicate concerns to leadership.
Training & Development
Conduct new employee orientation programs.
Implement and monitor training initiatives to support employee development and operational effectiveness.
Facilitate training sessions on HR-related topics as needed.
Qualifications Education
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
Experience
Minimum of three years of progressive Human Resources Generalist and supervisory experience required.
Experience in recruitment, temporary staffing, benefits administration, payroll, employee relations, labor relations, safety, and workers' compensation.
Experience in warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or production environments preferred.
Skills & Competencies
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
Ability to interact effectively with employees and management at all levels.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Demonstrated leadership and team-building abilities.
Knowledge of distribution center or operational environments.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally.
Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use.
Ability to climb stairs as needed.
Work Environment
Work is performed in a distribution center environment with varying temperatures.
