Dean Of The School Of Health And Allied Health
Saint Martin's University invites applications and nominations for the position of Dean of the School of Health and Allied Health. Reporting to the Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs, the Dean serves as the chief academic and administrative leader for the School, which includes Nursing, Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, and other allied health disciplines. The Dean provides visionary, collaborative leadership that advances excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service while fostering a student-centered learning environment grounded in critical thinking, ethical reflection, and respect for the inherent dignity of every person.
Guided by the Benedictine values of community, hospitality, stewardship, and service, the Dean leads faculty, staff, and students in delivering healthcare education that integrates moral reasoning, compassion, and a commitment to the common good. In partnership with the Director of Nursing—who also serves as a faculty member within the School—the Dean ensures that Nursing programs and other health disciplines are aligned with professional standards, regulatory requirements, and the University's mission.
This collaborative leadership model strengthens the School's capacity to provide high-quality, mission-driven healthcare education that prepares graduates for meaningful service and leadership. The Dean is responsible for program development and assessment, accreditation and regulatory compliance, faculty and staff supervision and mentoring, student success initiatives, external partnerships, and sound fiscal stewardship.
