Summary

The House Manager oversees day‑to‑day residential services, including staff training, ensuring client needs are met, maintaining quality home environments, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The role includes supervising staff, maintaining communication with external parties, managing staffing and labor hours, and mentoring direct support professionals.

Responsibilities
  • Promptly report suspected abuse and ensure mandated reporting.
  • Provide direct care as scheduled on the floor.
  • Maintain confidentiality and complete required consents, HIPAA forms, and notices.
  • Ensure overall health, safety, and quality of life for clients.
  • Provide necessary personal care items and support transportation for client activities.
  • Supervise, train, and provide discipline to Lead and Direct Support Staff.
  • Monitor staffing levels and ensure that each client receives appropriate support.
  • Coordinate employee training and special needs training (e.g., Nurse Delegation, Core Training, CPR/FA).
  • Conduct weekly compliance checks, medication audits, and maintain proper documentation.
  • Attend agency meetings, inspections and requested unannounced visits.
  • Communicate home repair needs and oversee necessary repairs.
  • Manage client transport for emergencies, medical appointments, therapies, work, school and outings.
  • Prepare and review client Support Plans, IISP, and PBSP, updating goals regularly.
  • Maintain records and ensure compliance with state regulations and SAILS Washington policies.
  • Report weekly/bi‑weekly/monthly tasks and reports to the Residential Director and Assistant Director.
  • Ensure adequate supplies, materials, food, and emergency equipment.
  • Maintain relationships with clients, families, vocational vendors, staff, and other service providers.
  • Respond to client emergencies and illnesses and notify Program Management.
  • Coordinate staff new‑hire training and ongoing professional development.
  • Act as a Crisis On‑Call Responder when designated.
  • Restock depleted agency forms and maintain home safety from fire, flood, and other hazards.
Qualifications
  • Background check clearance and willingness to pass a Washington State background check.
  • Active NAR authorization and completion of 75° CORE Basic Training, Nurse Delegation, CPR/First Aid, and other required training.
  • Ability to speak and read English fluently. Good communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal communication, follow‑through, purposeful attitude, time‑management, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office; quick to adapt to new technology.
  • Experience supervising or managing residential care staff preferred.
  • Knowledge of DDA policies, client rights and responsibilities, and mandated reporting.
Work Environment

The position is field‑based with high‑pressure demands, including some exposure to weather conditions and potentially inappropriate behavior from clients. Physical demands include standing, walking, lifting up to 10 pounds routinely and up to 50 pounds occasionally.

On‑Call

Included in a rotating on‑call schedule; may be required to report for shifts or emergencies.
