Overview
Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) at Bio Life Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd. This role supports plasma center operations and ensures donor safety and compliance under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies in accordance with SOPs; assist with the development of Center Physician’s standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on unacceptable findings or medical/technical issues affecting donor safety and eligibility.
- Support vaccination programs for employees (e.g., Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu) as applicable.
- Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health or Emergency Response; refer to Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) guidance as needed.
- Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.
- High school diploma or equivalent to include graduate equivalent of a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
- Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: RN, NP, or PA.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy (in the state of licensure).
- Satisfactorily complete the FDA-approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Compensation and Benefits SummaryLocation:

U.S. Hourly Wage Range: $38.72 - $53.24
The actual hourly wage offered will depend on qualifications, experience, skills, education, licenses, and location.
