Responsibilities- Assess the physical and psychological conditions of patients continuously throughout their care journey.
- Utilize the nursing process in alignment with the philosophy, objectives, values, mission, and core principles of South Sound Behavioral Hospital.
- Uphold a safe therapeutic environment grounded in our core values.
- Oversee and ensure staff adherence to standards of care, mental health practices, and hospital policies.
- Lead and contribute to the hospital’s philosophy, objectives, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Provide essential supervision, leadership, and direction to nursing staff.
- Evaluate program effectiveness, formulate improvement plans, and implement necessary changes.
- Coordinate staffing schedules based on patient needs and maintain legal processes for patients.
- Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, state, and regulatory standards.
- Develop, update, and evaluate the effectiveness of treatment planning offered by Nursing Services.
- Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments, document patient information, and reassess changes in patient condition.
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program and hold a valid Washington State RN license. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility and psychiatric nursing management.
- Thorough knowledge of The Joint Commission, CMS, OSHA requirements, and state/federal regulatory standards.
- CPR certification.
- Successful completion of crisis intervention training within 90 days of employment and before participating in restraining procedures.
- Exceptional crisis management and time-management skills; flexibility, creativity, and calm, organized demeanor in stressful situations.

This is a PRN role. The expected compensation range is $55.00 per hour plus a $5 House Supervisor differential.
