Position Summary

Responsible for the operation of cash registers, providing customer service, and maintaining shelf stock.

• Operation of cash registers
• Maintaining shelf stock; stocking the sales floor as needed and directed by store management
• Answering phone inquiries
• Maintain a safe, clean, and well‑merchandised store
• Provide excellent customer service to a variety of customers
• Follow Goodwill’s cash handling policies and company procedures
• Work as a team player to accomplish competitive deadlines and goals

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
• 1–3 months of related experience and/or training
• Exceptional analytical, judgment, decision‑making, and communication skills
• Superior coaching, leadership, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build understanding and consensus
• Language skills: read and interpret hard data and metrics; speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
• Mathematical skills: calculate figures and amounts, apply basic algebra, manage departmental budget
• Computer skills: navigate multiple program screens, use computer, keyboard, mouse, 10‑key, touchscreen
• Other skills and abilities: comprehensive understanding of all aspects of a Cashier
• Self‑motivated, resourceful, creative; high integrity; problem solver; positive can‑do approach; build effective relationships
• Physical demands: constant standing, walking, handling, reaching; lift 1–15 lbs frequently, up to 40 lbs occasionally; close vision required
• Work environment: moderate noise level
