Position Summary
Responsible for the operation of cash registers, providing customer service, and maintaining shelf stock.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Operation of cash registers
- Maintaining shelf stock; stocking the sales floor as needed and directed by store management
- Answering phone inquiries
- Maintain a safe, clean, and well‑merchandised store
- Provide excellent customer service to a variety of customers
- Follow Goodwill’s cash handling policies and company procedures
- Work as a team player to accomplish competitive deadlines and goals
Job Requirements
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 1–3 months of related experience and/or training
- Exceptional analytical, judgment, decision‑making, and communication skills
- Superior coaching, leadership, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build understanding and consensus
- Language skills: read and interpret hard data and metrics; speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
- Mathematical skills: calculate figures and amounts, apply basic algebra, manage departmental budget
- Computer skills: navigate multiple program screens, use computer, keyboard, mouse, 10‑key, touchscreen
- Other skills and abilities: comprehensive understanding of all aspects of a Cashier
- Self‑motivated, resourceful, creative; high integrity; problem solver; positive can‑do approach; build effective relationships
- Physical demands: constant standing, walking, handling, reaching; lift 1–15 lbs frequently, up to 40 lbs occasionally; close vision required
- Work environment: moderate noise level
