Professional Sales Representative – La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries (Lacey, WA)
Job Summary:
Join a dynamic team where your ambition drives success. As a Professional Sales Representative, you’ll create luxury sales experiences, build long‑term customer relationships, and work with our design program to bring modern comfort into homes and offices.
Compensation
- Training Pay: $18.00 per hour for 2‑6 weeks (no commission)
- Base Pay After Training: $13.50 per hour
- Uncapped commissions on all written sales (1%-6% based on sales achievement)
- Average annual earnings: $50,000-$70,000+ (incl. base + commission)

Key Responsibilities
- Drive sales and contribute to store sales goals by selling furniture, accessories, and services.
- Promote the Design program and assist the Designer to achieve sales goals.
- Execute La-Z-Boy selling process, building rapport, discovering needs, presenting custom portfolios, handling objections, closing sales, and following up.
- Maximize store promotions, marketing initiatives, and grassroots programs.
- Design program: schedule professional home consultations and present customized room designs.
- Provide exceptional customer service to all current and future customers.
- Use Podium system for customer satisfaction and follow‑up.
- Support business decisions that promote customer satisfaction and teamwork.
- Handle incoming phone calls and emails, and resolve customer issues with appropriate solutions.
- Train, coach, and develop new peers on product knowledge and selling process.
- Maintain the visual appearance of the store, including displays, catalogs, and general cleanliness.
- Accurately complete orders, collect deposits, maintain customer records, and research payments/deliveries.
- Schedule deliveries and manage opening and closing of the store.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous selling experience with strong closing skills.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal, persuasion, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage time and conflicting priorities.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Initiative and strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Background and drug screen clearance.
Preferred Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None.
Physical Demands / Work Environment
- Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and use repetitive hand motions.
- Ability to sit, walk, bend, and stoop as needed.
- Must pass background and drug screening.
