Job Description

• Reviewapprovedconstructiondrawings,welding procedures,shop drawings,andprojectspecifications
• Communicatewithwelders,foremen,superintendents,project managers,engineers,andbuildinginspectorsregardinginspectionfindingsandcomplianceissues
• Preparedetailedinspectionreportsdocumentingcompliancewithcontractdocuments,approved drawings,AWScodes,andapplicablestandards
• Mentorandtrainjuniorinspectorsonweldinginspectionprocedures,code requirements,anddocumentationstandards
• Inspectandverifyweldingactivitiesforcompliancewithapprovedplans,specifications,andapplicableweldingcodes
• Ensureweldingworkisperformedinaccordancewithcontractdocuments,specifications,RFCplans,andapprovedweldingprocedures
• Ensurecontractorscomplywithprojectspecifications,approvedweldingprocedures,andapplicableAWS/IBCrequirements
• Verifywelderqualificationsandweldingprocedurespecifications(WPS/PQR)
• PerformvisualweldinspectionsinaccordancewithAWSD
  1.1andotherapplicablecodes
• Documentwelddiscontinuities,deficiencies,andcorrectiveactions
• MaintaincurrentAWSCWIcertificationandotherrequiredcredentials

• Bachelor’sdegreeinatechnicalfield,Associate’sdegreewithrelevanttechnicalexperience,orequivalentcombinationofeducationandweldinginspectionexperiencepreferred
• CurrentAWSCertified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required
• AdditionalcertificationssuchasICCStructural Steeland Bolting ,ICC Structural
  
  Welding,NDTcertifications,orotherapplicableinspectioncertificationspreferred
• WorkingknowledgeofAWSD
  1.1,applicablebuildingcodes,andindustrystandardsrelatedtostructuralsteelweldingandinspection
• Abilitytoreadandinterpretconstructiondrawings,welding symbols,shop drawings,specifications,andweldingprocedurespecifications(WPS/PQR)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Officeapplicationsincluding Word ,Excel,and Outlook
• Valid driver’slicensewithacceptabledrivingrecord
• Strongattentiontodetailwiththeabilitytoprioritizeandmanagemultipleprojectsandinspectionassignments
• Abilitytoworkindependentlyinthefieldandcommunicateeffectivelywithcontractors,engineers,project managers,and clients
• Job duties subject to change; other duties as assigned by the manager

Salary Range: $40-60/hour, depending on qualifications
