Job Description
As a Sr Field Service Technician / Electro‑Mechanical Technician at Honeywell in our Lacy Washington location, you will support our Industrial Automation business unit by delivering expert technical service and troubleshooting complex systems. You will ensure the reliability, efficiency, and safety of advanced material handling equipment and directly impact customer operations and satisfaction.
Work HoursShift: 6:00 pm–6:30 am Sun‑Tues and 2:00 am–6:30 am Wed.
Responsibilities- Assist other technicians in repairing and maintaining distribution center material handling equipment.
- Complete work orders, records, logs, and other written or computer‑based documents according to established procedures.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems using technical drawings and diagnostic tools.
- Follow safety procedures and use personal protective equipment while maintaining equipment (Lock Out/Tag Out, Arc Flash, etc.).
- Operate material handling equipment, battery equipment, moving machinery, and other powered equipment.
- Use TCPiP as a troubleshooting/setup tool.
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment such as pneumatic systems, hydraulic equipment, dock equipment, and electronic/computer control systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair complex electrical/electronic problems with equipment, networks, PC logic controls, PLCs, and external I/O devices.
- Provide resolutions to mechanical, technical/controls issues; document all customer support information in CMMS and the Dashboard database.
- Provide information to the Customer Service Department and other management members to enhance customer service success.
- Follow up with customers and other departments to ensure issues have been resolved.
- Participate in cleaning conveyor systems, maintenance shop area, and part cage as appropriate.
- Maintain inventory of company supplied tools and PPE.
- Complete appropriate paperwork in a timely manner.
- Adhere to all department and company standards, operating procedures, and safety requirements while contributing to improvement.
- May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
- Work at heights using fall protection PPE.
- Show flexibility in covering multiple shifts and holiday hours as required.
- Be willing to work overtime as required.
- Some travel may be required; training is strongly encouraged to develop networking and skill sets.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2–4 years of mechanical troubleshooting and repair experience;
Sr. level requires 5+ years. - 2–4 years of electrical (high voltage) troubleshooting and repair experience;
Sr. level requires 5+ years. - Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Availability for shift work and flexibility to travel.
- Valid driver’s license for positions that require traveling.
Job Requirements
- Lift 25 pounds individually and 50 pounds as a two‑person team.
- Carry required tools and tool bag (10–15 lb) regularly for extended periods and distances.
- Stand and walk on concrete and other surfaces for long periods.
- Work above your head for extended periods while standing, laying, or seated; lift weights listed above your head.
- Move safely in confined spaces, which may require crawling on hands and knees.
- Climb and descend ladders and stairs frequently; work on a ladder for extended periods.
- Wear and maintain personal protective gear correctly: safety shoes, hard hat, safety glasses/goggles/face shield, hearing protection, safety harness, ARC Flash suite, and cut‑resistant gloves.

$57,500.00 – $71,900.00. Salary is a general guideline and is determined by experience, education, skills, and market conditions.
