Penske Truck Leasing in Lacey seeks highly motivated and qualified applicants to fill the unique position of Hiker (Vehicle Transporter/Truck Driver). The role involves delivering and returning vehicles to Penske locations and customers. Primarily, the position moves box trucks up to 26 feet and may include tractor and trailer movement for CDL Class

A. The driver may also assist the service department with parts and equipment delivery.

This casual/on-call part-time job is ideal for licensed CDL Class B or Class A drivers seeking supplemental income, offering 0 to 25 hours per week based on business needs.

• Follow appropriate safety procedures while driving trucks to Penske or customer locations.
• Check vehicles to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order; report any issues to the location manager.
• Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services when required.
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to vehicles.
• Perform other projects and tasks assigned by supervisor.

• 2 years of driving experience required.
• 2 years of a clean DMV motor vehicle record required.
• Valid Class B CDL required; CDL Class A license preferred.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions.
• Ability to work independently with customer service skills, organizational skills, and a positive attitude.
• English language proficiency (required by federal law).
• Regular, predictable, full attendance essential.
• Ability to maintain a current driver qualification file, including annual MVR check, DOT Physical, Safety Performance History records, and DOT drug screening within 30 days of start.
• Willingness to travel as necessary, work required schedule, submit to background investigation, and drug screening.

• Must see and hear; specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Must move frequently, stand, walk, sit; use hands to touch, handle, feel, and reach.
• Must regularly lift/move up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and occasionally lift up to 100 lbs (45 kg).
• Must legally operate a motor vehicle and safely enter/exit vehicle and rear cargo area.

$23.00 per hour.
