LOCAL OFFICE MANAGER

Position # 42014

Starting Hourly Pay Range: $28.74/hour - $38.85hour

  • This position offers a Trainee Status at an hourly pay rate of $27.55; candidate must meet the minimum qualifications within one (1) year of hire date.

37.5-hour work week

  • Please note, this position is eligible for an Alternative, Flexible or In-State Remote-Hybrid schedule upon completion of an in-office training period. This position is not fully remote.

The State of New Hampshire, Employment Security, Employment Service Bureau
- Operations, has a full-time vacancy for Local Office Manager in Laconia.

SUMMARY

Directs and oversees Local Office operations of the Employment Service, the Resource Center, and the Unemployment Compensation Program for New Hampshire Employment Security

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education/

Experience:

Equivalent combination of 7 years of education and experience after completion of high school. Education and experience must be in the field of personnel, human services, business management, or public administration.

License/Certification:
Valid driver’s license and/or access to transportation for statewide travel.

Trainee Option:
Candidates with an equivalent combination of 6+ years of relevant education and experience after completion of high school may be considered and hired in ‘trainee status’ for this position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

At least one (1) year of supervisory experience assigning employee’s work and having the authority to hire and/or fire.

Comprehensive knowledge of employment service program functions, procedures, and policies, as well as the objectives and requirements of federal and state manpower initiatives. Familiarity with New Hampshire unemployment compensation laws, organized labor practices, community organization methods, and relevant legislation including social security, workers’ compensation, and wage‑and‑hour laws, understanding local and state economic, industrial, labor, business, and agricultural conditions. Adept at analyzing community workforce needs, developing service strategies, and leading a professional and clerical team.

Effective communication, sound organizational leadership, and the ability to build productive relationships with staff, partner agencies, and the community.

AFTER-HIRE REQUIREMENTS
  • Employees must attend training classes provided by the Department of Administrative Services, Division of Personnel, Bureau of Education, and Training in the following:
    Personnel Rules Review, Personnel Appeal Board, and Performance Evaluation and Appraisal, within the first year of employment
  • The Manager position may require supervision of and travel to more than one other office.
