Have an impact by inspiring the next generation of agriculture, animal, and plant scientists as a career and technical education (CTE) teacher in the newly-constructed Agricultural Center. SRVRTC Newport values a supportive educator who is a team player with a passion for their industry. Interested, industry-qualified, and/or experienced applicants who are not currently credentialed as an educator are encouraged to apply.
Various combinations of education and experience will be considered. Significant support is provided to obtain credentialing as an educator.
- Plan and teach a comprehensive career and technical education (CTE) program of animal & plant sciences.
- Plan and teach elective courses related to animal & plant sciences.
- Meet district expectations for curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
- Design coursework to meet established CTE competencies.
- Regularly maintain connections with industry, including but not limited to:
Program Advisory Committee (PAC), local industry and agriculture industry, and NH Agricultural Educators Association. - Integrate FFA content into the curriculum as appropriate.
- Serve as a student advisor in conjunction with the high school, as assigned.
- Maintain and properly utilize a variety of lab spaces and equipment including a greenhouse, animal care facilities, and outdoor lab environments.
- Promote and enforce safety expectations.
- Research and procure equipment and supplies for upkeep and to maintain program relevance to industry.
- Integrate industry connection into the curriculum, including field trips, guest speakers, and industry-related topics.
- Participate in statewide agriculture teachers cluster.
- Coordinate care for animals and plants on non-school days.
- Maintain a working knowledge or related industry techniques, procedures, equipment, markets, and best practices.
- Follow all district and school policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
- NH educator credential with endorsement in General Agriculture (1756), Animal Science (0101), or Horticulture (0102), or ability to obtain a Statement of Eligibility (SOE) in one of these endorsement areas.
- A candidate with the ability to be credentialed as an Early College adjunct professor through the Community College System of New Hampshire (CCSNH) is highly desirable.
- Salary is per the Newport Teachers Association (NTA) collective bargaining agreement.
- Opportunity for additional stipend as an FFA Advisor.
Position to remain open until filled. An initial review of applications will take place on February 2nd with interviews to take place in early February. Anticipated start date of August 17, 2026.
