Senior Data Community Manager/Change Manager - Local Northshore MA candidate required. On-site 3-4 days/week in the Northshore, MA office. This is a long-term consulting role, with the client ideally looking to bring the person on board permanently.

Role SummaryWe are seeking a dynamic and strategic Community Manager to lead and grow our internal Data Community. This role is central to animating the community, establishing ways of working, and supporting our trajectory toward data maturity, literacy, and operational excellence. You will help foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement in how we manage and use data.
Key Responsibilities- Community Building & Engagement:
Cultivate a strong, purpose-driven data community that fosters trust, learning, and innovation. - Organize and facilitate regular events (e.g., data talks, clinics, showcases) to share knowledge and celebrate impact.
- Act as a connector between data professionals, business users, and leadership.
- Define and evolve the community’s operating model, including roles (e.g., data owners, stewards, engineers), rituals, and communication channels.
- Promote shared standards and reusable assets across domains.
- Align community practices with enterprise data governance and compliance frameworks.
- Collaborate with learning & development to design and roll out data literacy programs.
- Support community members in adopting modern data tools, methodologies, and mindsets.
- Help teams move through data platform maturity phases, from ad hoc practices to automated, scalable, and business-aligned data operations.
- Track and report on progress in data maturity across teams.
- Clarify roles and responsibilities across data-related functions (e.g., data owners, data stewards, analysts, engineers).
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and knowledge exchange.
- Identify and resolve friction points in data workflows and inter-team dependencies.
- Serve as the voice of the community to leadership and other departments.
- Create compelling narratives and content to showcase community impact.
- Maintain internal platforms (e.g., intranet, Teams) to share updates, playbooks, and success stories, to keep the community informed and inspired.
Must-Have
- Proven experience in community management, change management, or data enablement roles.
- Strong understanding of data concepts, roles, and lifecycle.
- Strong understanding of data management, governance, and quality principles.
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management and engagement skills.
- Experience in driving cultural or behavioral change in large, complex organizations.
Nice-to-Have
- Background in medtech, healthcare, or regulated industries.
- Familiarity with data platforms, data catalogs, analytics tools, and agile ways of working.
- Experience with internal communications or learning & development.
- Growth in community engagement and participation.
- Adoption of the platform’s data tools, methodologies, and mindsets.
- Improvement in data literacy scores and maturity assessments.
