Seeking a specialized Psychiatric RN for their Behavioral Health Annex. This unit provides acute psychiatric care within a medical setting, requiring a unique blend of mental health expertise and medical-surgical proficiency. Because this annex often manages patients with co-occurring medical complexities, the facility requires nurses who are comfortable managing med-surg acuities and ratios while providing high-quality psychiatric stabilization.

• Psychiatric Stabilization: Manage adult patients in acute psychiatric crisis, providing therapeutic interventions, safety monitoring, and medication management.
• Medical Oversight: Utilize Med-Surg skills to manage the physical health needs of psychiatric patients, including wound care, IV therapy, and chronic condition management.
• Safety & De-escalation: Maintain a safe, therapeutic milieu; employ verbal de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques.
• Cardiac Monitoring: Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms (telemetry); must pass a Dysrhythmia exam with 80% or higher during onboarding.
• Documentation: Utilize Cerner EMR (preferred) to track patient progress, behavioral observations, and medical treatments.

• Experience:
  * Minimum 2+ years of Psychiatric Nursing experience.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of Med-Surg experience is necessary (Critical Care experience is also acceptable if comfortable with Med-Surg ratios).
  • Proven Travel Experience is required.
• Licensure: Active New Hampshire (NH) or Compact RN License required at the time of submission.
• Certifications: * BLS (AHA) – Required.
  • NHISS (NH Information Security & Systems) – Required prior to start.
  • ACLS – Preferred.
• Testing: Must pass a Dysrhythmia/Rhythm Strip exam during onboarding.

• Department: Behavioral Health Annex (301450).
• Location: Laconia, NH 03246.
• Patient Population: Adult psychiatric patients with varying levels of medical acuity.
• On-Call: No on-call requirements.

• Guarantee: Flexible 36-hour or 48-hour weekly guarantee.
• Commitment: The facility is specifically looking for travelers open to a 26-week contract.
• Local Candidates: Accepted; local rates apply to those residing within 50 miles.
