APRN​/PA-C - Cardiology (Part-time

Summary

The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant provides specialty and preventive cardiac health care services to an adult population. In collaboration with the attending physician, the provider performs all aspects of acute care including patient admissions, consults, follow‑up care, and discharges. The provider coordinates specialty care and discharge management for acute care patients and delivers care to the same population in the office setting.

For Nurse Practitioners:
Completion of a Master’s degree in Advanced Practice Nursing or at least four years of formal training or education beyond high school (e.g., Bachelor’s degree).

For Physician Assistants:
Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Certification Program is required.

Certification required:
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).

Licensure required:
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse must hold a New Hampshire license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and a DEA license. Physician Assistant must hold a New Hampshire license as a Physician Assistant and a DEA license.

At least one year of cardiology provider experience.

• Obtain patient health history and perform physical examinations.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
• Diagnose acute and chronic medical problems.
• Prescribe and manage medications.
• Provide preventive care, secondary prevention, and patient education according to practice standards.
• Meet productivity standards of the practice or department.
• Document care provided in the medical record.
• Perform, interpret, and adjust cardiac devices (pacemakers, ICDs, loop recorders).
• Safely perform and interpret stress tests, communicate findings, and make appropriate follow‑up recommendations.
• Maintain professional development.
