- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for population-specific patients with simple to complex, multi-system issues
- Engage in caring relationships with patients, families, and significant others
- Collaborate with other healthcare workers and perform nursing and medical interventions using sound judgment
- Adhere to specialty and organizational standards, policies, procedures, guidelines, and protocols
- Report to the Director and/or Nurse Manager
- Provide direct patient care and apply clinical judgment to make nursing decisions
- Gather and interpret patient history and physical assessment data
- Develop, evaluate, and revise patient care plans and nursing actions
- Document care and patient progress toward desired outcomes
- Direct and supervise delegated nursing activities
- Teach patients and significant others about the plan of care
- Prepare patients to manage care after discharge, transfer, or procedures/tests
- Manage time and resources to deliver patient care
- Administer medications
- May participate in supervising Licensed Nursing Assistants and unlicensed personnel
- Graduated from an accredited School of Nursing
- Current Registered Nurse licensure with the New Hampshire Board of Nursing
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association
- Department-specific certifications as required by policy
- One year of prior clinical nursing experience
- Ability to work effectively and positively with patients, care providers, and the multidisciplinary team
- Ability to perform as a member of a team
- Ability to meet medium material-handling requirements, including lifting, carrying, or pushing/pulling up to 20–50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to perform required physical tasks, including walking, standing, bending, reaching, sitting, squatting, climbing, kneeling, and repetitive motion
- Ability to work with exposure to airborne and blood borne pathogens, bodily fluids, chemotherapeutic agents, electrical hazards, and chemicals
Demonstrates expertise in patient assessment, care planning, and clinical judgment while adhering to nursing standards and protocols. Proficient in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and providing direct patient care in various healthcare settings.
