Regional Sales/Service Manager – Northeast

Compensation

Salary Range: $90,000 plus commission. Position comes with a quarterly commission plan based on maintaining existing business and business growth.

Functional Role

The Regional Sales/Service Manager, RSSM–Northeast acts as the “owner” of the region; provides direct sales leadership to a region. The customer focus will be on all PAPER MILLS in the region with a strategic focus on Winders and Rewinders that fit our current product strategy. The RSSM will have close customer relationships that range from maintenance, personnel, shift supervisors, engineers, machine personnel, and top operations leadership.

The Account Manager is a key member of the North American Leadership Team.

Reports to:

Director of Sales.

Percentage Time Breakdown & Major Accountabilities
  • 80% Customer facing activities
  • 10% follow‑up work with customers
  • 10% internal communication
Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Director of Sales to develop and implement a sales plan for the region, aligning with long‑range sales and marketing strategies.
  • Thoroughly understand all equipment sold, especially around slitter sections, and be able to install and adjust holders, carriages, blades, and set cant angles and blade depth.
  • Be prepared to fill in for routine slitter section maintenance, training, and other service aspects.
  • Participate in company meetings to discuss, fine‑tune, and help create strategic plans.
  • Effectively manage accounts and customer relationships, leveraging company resources to accomplish stated goals.
  • Develop and enhance relationships with key customer personnel.
  • Monitor competitors’ products, practices, and pricing.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of current and future industry trends.
  • Participate in industry trade association activities.
  • Communicate and report internally to ensure customer service and efforts are in sync with sales leadership.
  • Write weekly call reports communicating the health of our customers and your territory.
  • Present service reports.
  • Maintain CRM – Salesforce, update opportunities, assets, contacts.
  • Generate and qualify leads.
  • Present company products and services.
  • Present proposals and quotations.
  • Negotiate with customers.
  • Respond to sales inquiries, concerns via phone, electronically or in person.
  • Maintain a safe work record both at the customer and during travels.

  • Education & Experience:

    Bachelor’s degree, ideally a technical degree; successful sales experience in the pulp and paper industry required.
  • Technically savvy; comfortable in a paper mill setting and familiar with paper making process; strong credibility at the customer level.
