The Senior Accountant is responsible for executing the day‑to‑day accounting functions of Power Plus Systems, LLC with full ownership of the financial processes that keep the company running. This is a structured, deadline‑driven role where accuracy, consistency, and accountability are paramount. The ideal candidate thrives on routine, owns their responsibilities without prompting, and brings deep expertise in construction accounting and Quick Books.
Objectives- Take full ownership of the company's core accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliations, and payroll processing.
- Execute recurring accounting tasks on schedule—daily, weekly, and monthly—ensuring all deadlines are met with precision and without the need for oversight.
- Prepare monthly financial reports, job cost reports, and cash flow summaries that provide leadership with a clear and accurate picture of company financials.
- Manage Quick Books as the primary accounting system, maintaining clean and organized records, processing transactions accurately, and ensuring data integrity at all times.
- Coordinate with the Finance team and Executive Director on financial reporting, annual audit preparation, and tax documentation, while maintaining day‑to‑day independence in all accounting operations.
- Deep hands‑on proficiency in Quick Books, including job costing, invoicing, and reporting.
- Strong knowledge of construction accounting practices, including job cost allocation and progress billing.
- Demonstrated ability to manage high‑volume, repetitive accounting tasks with accuracy and consistency across AP, AR, payroll, and GL functions.
- Exceptional attention to deadlines—this role operates on a fixed monthly cycle and requires someone who self‑manages and delivers on time, every time.
- Solid understanding of financial statements and the ability to prepare and present reports that are clean, accurate, and actionable.
- High degree of ownership and accountability— the right person for this role takes pride in their work, flags issues proactively, and doesn't wait to be asked.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 3–5 years of hands‑on accounting experience, with construction industry experience strongly preferred.
- Advanced Quick Books proficiency required (Quick Books certification a plus).
- Experience with job costing and construction billing preferred.
- Extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
