Special Education Teacher

Overview

Birch Agency is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to support an Emotional Disabilities (ED) program in an elementary school setting in Ladson, SC
. This is a rewarding opportunity for an educator who is passionate about helping students develop academically, socially, and emotionally in a structured and supportive environment.

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Provide differentiated instruction aligned with students’ academic and emotional needs
• Implement positive behavior supports and classroom management strategies
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
• Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff
• Communicate effectively with families and caregivers

• Valid South Carolina Special Education teaching certification (or ability to obtain)
• Experience working with students with Emotional Disabilities preferred
• Strong classroom management and behavioral intervention skills
• Passion for supporting elementary-aged learners
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment
