Special Education Teacher, Elementary School
Make a meaningful difference in elementary and secondary education by supporting students with diverse needs! This contract opportunity allows you to bring your expertise as a Special Education Teacher to a local educational community, with positions available in both elementary and secondary school settings. Assignments are available from preschool through high school, allowing you to select a caseload that aligns with your strengths and passions.
The assignment runs from August 5, 2026, through June 4, 2027, with a consistent weekly schedule of 37.5 hours. Positions are strictly onsite, offering the rewarding in-person interaction so vital to effective special education.
Desired Background & Credentials:
- Valid South Carolina Special Education (SPED) licensure is required
- Previous experience teaching in cross-categorical, resource/co-teach, or emotional disabilities settings preferred
- Passion for creating inclusive, engaging classroom experiences
- Strong collaboration skills with teachers, paraprofessionals, and families
- Effective written and verbal communication abilities
- Flexibility to adapt to different classroom environments or age groups
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver instruction for students with a range of abilities and IEP requirements
- Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to suit individual learning needs
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to IEP meetings and documentation
- Collaborate with general education teachers and specialized staff
- Provide a safe, positive, and supportive learning environment
- Engage with families and guardians to promote progress and positive outcomes
Youll work within a supportive team, have access to school resources, and be given the opportunity to select your preferred caseload from several elementary and secondary school sites in the area.
