Status of Hire: full-time, direct hire, hourly non-exempt
Shift(s): 1st shift (6:00am-3:30pm M-Th | 6:00am-10:00am
F) plus overtime as needed
Reports to: Production Manager
Pay: $27/hr - $31/hr
SummaryWe are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer who brings a high level of technical machining knowledge. The ideal candidate must have experience with CNC programming, machine operation, and have excellent problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities- Creation and optimization of CNC - lathe programs on the CNC machine through use of G-code programming (e.g., CIMCO Edit).
- Set up and operate CNC machines to produce high quality parts in single piece and series production.
- Selection of tools and fixtures to meet the requirements of the new production line.
- Proven knowledge and skills in operating and programming OKUMA CNC Machines.
- Monitor manufacturing processes and react as necessary to maintain proper operation.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC machines to ensure optimal performance.
- Provide input and ideas for process improvement and optimization (e.g., 6S, SMED)
- Maintain accurate records of production data, such as part counts and cycle times.
- Identify and troubleshoot problems that arise during the manufacturing process to ensure high quality production.
- Creation of machining processes for lathes with live tooling.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a relevant field is preferred
- 2 or more years of experience in CNC programming and operation, very strong knowledge skills. Familiarity with Okuma CNC machines is preferred.
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Excellent attention to detail and quality control
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed to meet project deadlines
- Knowledge of basic math and geometry
- Ability to understand work orders and drawings and to follow detailed instructions.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to use simple hand tools.
- Proficiency with micrometers and other common measuring instruments.
