Sierra Technologies is seeking a detail-oriented Shipper/Packer for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (CMOP) contract. This position supports the packaging and distribution of prescription medications at the CMOP facility in Ladson, South Carolina.
The Shipper/Packer plays an essential role in ensuring prescriptions are packaged securely, accurately, and efficiently for shipment to Veterans nationwide while maintaining compliance with CMOP, VA, and federal standards.
This position is a McNamara-O’Hara Service Contract Act (SCA) position. The current hourly rate is $20.17, and it is non-negotiable.
Work Structure & Schedule- Work Type: Full-Time Federal Contract (contingent upon award)
- Location: On-site – VA CMOP Facility, Ladson, South Carolina
- Schedule: 1st Shift: 6:00 AM-2:30 PM; 2nd Shift: 3:30 PM-12:00 AM
- Contract Duration: Approximately 5 years
- Select appropriate shipping containers based on prescription type and handling requirements.
- Use excelsior or other packing materials to protect items from damage during transport.
- Insert required documentation, enclosures, and patient materials into containers.
- Close and seal containers accurately and securely.
- Apply shipping labels and ensure correct identifying information is entered or scanned.
- Operate automated and manual packaging equipment in accordance with CMOP guidelines.
- Read and interpret data from computer screens and operate scanning devices.
- Respond promptly to alarms, alerts, or interruptions in automated packaging systems.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment at all times.
- Monitor inventory of packaging supplies and notify leads when replenishment is needed.
- Support stock management activities, including restocking, rotating inventory, and checking expiration dates of pharmaceutical products.
- Serve as a facility runner to transport items, documents, or materials as needed.
- Follow all hazardous material and hazardous waste handling requirements in accordance with VA and federal regulations.
- Comply with CMOP, VA, OSHA, and institutional safety protocols.
- Maintain adherence to HIPAA and confidentiality standards.

Must Haves:EDUCATION
High School diploma or GED;
Vocational training commensurate with Department of Labor functional description.
Adequate experience performing the duties of the labor category as described in the Department of Labor functional description.
