Job Overview:

Responds to parts quality claims from internal operations and to supplier self-reported quality issues. Performs root cause analysis to parts problems, creates quality reports and report requests for suppliers. Identifies the dirt point and ensures the clean point of parts at the production line. Ensures that the scrapping costs are recorded to the root causer of parts quality issues and charged appropriately to the department responsible for the quality issue(s).

Responsibilities:

  • Appraisal of scrap parts and defect parts. Recording of quality costs to the root causer
  • Assist in current projects
  • Assists in negotiations with the supplier regarding scrap costs and cost regress
  • Assists in creating quality measures for product and process optimizations together with suppliers and other internal departments
  • Creation and tracking of PPAP planning with the local IT system "LIBS", including to ensure in due time processing of the tests by the departments
  • Participates in regularly scheduled team meetings
  • Performs analysis to find root causes and measures in case of quality problems in the serial production
  • Performs and interprets quality checks and problem analysis with parts in case of quality claims and in case of quality surveillance
  • Recording, testing and evaluation of primary samples. Check on correct primary sample documentation (norms, drawings, complete data)
  • Will perform other duties as assigned

Shift: This position is being offered on 2nd and 3rd shift

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED

Required:

2+ years of relevant manufacturing experience; OR Relevant certificate and 1+ years of relevant experience

Preferred: 3+ years of relevant experience; OR Relevant certificate and 2+ years of relevant experience

Permit to drive forklifts

Knowledge &

Skills:

· Knowledge in the application of quality methods

· Knowledge of analysis methods

· Experience in the area of supplier management

· Knowledge in parts documentation drawings

· Experience in the local IT systems (DIALOG, scrapping system, VANIS, QSYS)

· Strong command of spoken and written English

· Knowledge of spoken and written German is beneficial

· Knowledge of spoken and written Spanish is desirable

· Ability to work in teams is requested

· People and persuasion skills are beneficial

· Requires multicultural awareness to appropriately deliver messages

· Assertiveness in difficult situations, knowledge of presentation techniques
