Field Service Technician – Supervisor
At Safran, we build high‑quality commercial and business aircraft seats. In this role you will mentor mechanics, manage daily workload, and support operational excellence for Safran aircraft maintenance.
Responsibilities- Mentor mechanics on technical skills, best practices, and adherence to Safran processes.
- Obtain daily Airframer non‑conformity and production reports.
- Direct crew and set daily task priority for Safran aircraft workload, including assigning jobs to mechanics, coordinating pick‑up stamping, leading Safran stand‑up/tie‑in meetings, attending project status meetings, and creating project status tie‑in reports.
- Create emergent removal paperwork to install or replace parts at the Airframer.
- Report quality issues to the appropriate parties within the organization.
- Analyze discovered quality issues with mechanics.
- Add all QA issues to the appropriate tracking document or system.
- Verify the team's timesheet for accuracy before submission to the manager.
- Manage performance, behavior, and training needs of the team.
- Continuously seek operational excellence and improvement opportunities.
- Weekly review Airframer production reports to keep team members updated on key milestone dates (e.g., seat on dock, receiving inspections, seat installation).

- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree in a related technical field preferred.
- 6+ years of technical field service or related aerospace industry experience.
- Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Safran passenger seating preferred.
- High level of organizational skills, using tracking, note‑taking and visual management techniques for clear status reporting.
- Natural mechanical ability with hand and power tools.
- Experience referencing CMMs, drawings, PQS, and installation documents to resolve issues.
- Experience reading and interpreting electrical drawings, MSDS sheets, maintenance manuals, product specifications, and service bulletins.
- Expert (desirable but not essential) in reworking seat class types or specialized areas, including electrical troubleshooting, painting, decal and cosmetic repairs.
