Senior Plumbing Engineer – Lafayette, CA
CMTA, a Legence Company, is seeking a Senior Plumbing Engineer for our Lafayette, CA office with 5+ years of experience in plumbing design and engineering. This individual will work closely with the plumbing engineering team on energy‑efficient projects for various clients. The ideal candidate is self‑motivated, has a technical background, excels at resolving challenges, assists clients, and leads all phases of projects.
Salary$130,000 – $195,000 (dependent on experience)
Work ScheduleHybrid – 3 days in office, 2 days remote
Desired Experience- 5+ years of industry experience – MEP Design
- Piping and equipment layout using Revit
- Flow tests and engineering calculations
- Laying out waste/vent piping; domestic hot/cold piping; and storm piping
- Determine preliminary fire/domestic water requirements for various building types
- Providing workable solutions designing plumbing systems for buildings from the design phase through the construction administration phase as needed
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
- Reviewing and marking up others drawings.
- Generating electronic responses to questions and reviews.
- Attending meetings with owners, clients, and architects.
- Providing guidance and mentoring to staff engineers on appropriate design.
- Reviewing contractor submittals and shop drawings to determine conformance with contract documents and applicable Codes.
- Evaluating, selecting and applying standard engineering techniques, procedures, and calculations to perform equipment research, piping layout, and pipe sizing.
- Conferring with other engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures; resolve system deficiencies and provide technical information.
- Researching and analyzing client design proposal specifications, manuals, and other criteria to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of the design or application.
- Specifying system components or directing modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance.
- Developing client relations through feedback to design engineers on customer concerns and needs.
- Bachelor's Degree
- Licensed Engineer a plus but not a requirement
