Job Overview

AMS Industrial is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex industrial construction projects across the United States. This role is ideal for a proven construction project leader who has personally managed multiple industrial or heavy civil projects in the $1M–$20M range and consistently delivered profitable, on‑time results. You will oversee projects from preconstruction through closeout, working closely with field teams, owners, and subcontractors while helping position AMS for long‑term strategic growth.

This is a high‑visibility role within a well‑capitalized, strongly bonded company that is intentionally building its next generation of leadership.

Who We Are

AMS Industrial is a prime contractor specializing in industrial construction with heavy mechanical and civil scopes, including dams, waterways, and critical infrastructure projects. Our core work includes dam gates, bulkheads/stoplogs, piping, valves, powerhouse mechanical systems, and related heavy civil installations—often under federal contracts with agencies such as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Bureau of Reclamation.

AMS is positioned for significant growth under new leadership, including Chairman Scott Lynn, an industry‑recognized executive who has successfully scaled multiple construction companies from tens of millions to hundreds of millions in annual revenue. With strong financial backing, a competitive bonding advantage, and a focus on high‑margin, low‑competition remote projects, AMS offers a rare opportunity to help shape a growing contractor’s future.

Our culture is grounded in teamwork, accountability, and a shared commitment to “Winning Together.”

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage industrial construction projects from award through closeout, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and profitability.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, cost forecasts, and cash flow projections.
  • Coordinate closely with superintendents, field crews, subcontractors, vendors, and owners to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Manage subcontractor procurement, scopes of work, change orders, and performance.
  • Monitor project financials, identify risks and opportunities, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements, federal project standards, and company policies.
  • Communicate proactively with internal leadership and external stakeholders through clear, timely reporting.
  • Support project closeout activities, including documentation, punch lists, and final cost reconciliation.
  • Travel regularly to project sites across the contiguous United States.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of construction project management experience, preferably in industrial, heavy civil, or heavy mechanical construction.
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple projects in the $1M–$20M range with positive financial outcomes.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with field teams and clients.
  • Experience or exposure to federal construction projects (USACE, Bureau of Reclamation, DOE, etc.) is strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • U.S. Citizenship required (Department of Defense requisite).
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly to job sites nationwide.
  • No specific licenses or certifications required.
Benefits
  • Performance‑based and year‑end bonuses.
  • Potential Employee Ownership / Profit Sharing Program.
  • Weekly pay cycle.
  • Retirement savings program.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Health Savings Account (HSA).
  • Life and disability insurance options.
  • Paid time off.
  • Paid training and certifications.
  • Company vehicle and/or mileage reimbursement.
  • Relocation assistance available.
  • Prevailing wage project exposure.
  • Safety equipment provided.
Work Schedule
  • Full‑Time.
  • Monday – Friday.
  • Additional hours and travel as required by project demands.
Work Location
  • On‑site role based in Lafayette, Colorado.
  • Regular travel to AMS Industrial project sites throughout the contiguous United States.
