Director of Media Production

Location: Lafayette, CO (in-office when not traveling)

Travel: Approximately 5–7 days per month

Pay Range: Salary + benefits, depending on experience

PHENYX is seeking an experienced and highly creative Director of Media Production to lead all photo and video production efforts from concept through final delivery. This role owns production planning, on-site execution, and post-production across a wide range of brands and industries. The Director of Media Production is responsible for producing high-quality photo and video content used across social media, digital advertising campaigns, websites, blogs, and other marketing channels.

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role requiring strong production planning skills, confidence working directly with clients, and deep expertise in both photo and video production workflows.

What You’ll Do Leadership & Strategy
  • Lead and manage the media production department
  • Establish production workflows, creative standards, and quality control processes for all photo and video projects
  • Collaborate with leadership, creative, and marketing teams to align production strategy with campaign goals
  • Serve as the primary production lead for clients, guiding creative direction, planning discussions, and execution
Pre-Production / Production / Post-Production
  • Plan and produce photo and video shoots from start to finish, including concept development, shot lists, timelines, logistics, and staffing
  • Coordinate all aspects of production, ensuring shoots are well-organized, efficient, and executed at a high level
  • Travel for client productions and oversee on-site execution, producing both photo and video content on location
  • Direct photographers, videographers, and camera operators to ensure all required footage and imagery is captured
  • Ensure all production equipment is prepared, transported, and functioning properly
  • Edit and color-grade video content, review and finalize photo assets, and oversee post-production to ensure final deliverables meet creative and technical standards
Creative & Execution
  • Produce high-quality photo and video content that reflects each client’s brand, audience, and objectives
  • Balance creative vision with timelines, scope, and budget considerations
  • Maintain consistency across brand styles and visual deliverables
  • Manage multiple productions simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines
What We’re Looking For
  • Exceptional production planning and organizational skills
  • Strong creative vision with the ability to lead and collaborate within a team environment
  • Ability to work independently while communicating clearly and confidently with clients and internal teams
  • Passion for visual storytelling across both photo and video
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control
  • Proven ability to lead people, productions, and client relationships in a fast-paced agency setting
  • Deep understanding of client needs, industry demographics, and audience behavior
  • Commitment to staying current with digital best practices, tools, and industry trends
Required Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience leading and producing photo and video projects from pre-production through post-production
  • Ability and willingness to travel out of state on a regular basis
  • Proficiency in post-production software, including:
  • DaVinci (required)
  • Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Adobe After Effects
  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Adobe Lightroom
  • Strong understanding of professional photo and video production workflows
  • Proficiency with camera equipment, preferably Sony
  • Excellent computer literacy
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills
Schedule & Location
  • Full-time position
  • Must be able to work from the Lafayette, CO office when not traveling
  • Travel required approximately 5–7 days per month
