The Instructor III - Arts position is responsible for teaching specific arts and crafts classes to children and/or adults in a recreational setting. Recreation staff have the primary responsibility of ensuring the safety of program participants. The full salary range for this position is stated above. The starting range of pay is dependent on qualifications and experience of each individual candidate.

- Work with the public, while providing a fun, positive, and safe environment
- Demonstrate knowledge of specific art mediums and subject matter
- Demonstrate knowledge of art materials and their use
- Help plan, organize, implement and promote classes and activities
- Communicate and interact tactfully with the public and establish effective working relationships with other employees
- Act as an ambassador for the department and the art program

Incumbent is accountable for all duties of this job, and other projects and responsibilities may be added at the City’s discretion.
Education, Experience, Skills, Formal Training, Licenses, and Certifications Required- Must be at least 21 years of age
- High school diploma or GED
- Training and/or education demonstrating proficiency in art or fine craft
- Arts Instructor III must have a minimum two years of experience and a high level of specialized knowledge of fine art and fine craft mediums
