Hello! I'm Kass. I've got over 8 years of Tech Recruiting experience and work very closely with Denver-based teams. What these companies have in common is that they ALL are looking to Hire "Uncommonly Good" Founding, Mid, Senior, Lead, Staff & Principal Software Devs ... and of course, the Leaders of these Software Development Teams.
* Soooometimes we pick up other roles outside of Software Devs and in a broader 'tech' field.. that's where this one comes in :)
COMPANY OVERVIEW:
This company has pioneered the first demonstrably proven, wide field-of-view, full-color outdoor augmented reality solution for dynamic, high-speed flight environments. They are an innovative and well-established startup in the aerospace industry with significant government revenue, ensuring a stable trajectory. In essence, their bleeding-edge solution integrates highly customized, life-like simulation directly into a pilot's real-world flight experience.
ROLE OVERVIEW:
The Principal Electrical Engineer will be a key player in the creation of rugged, high-performance AR hardware. The role is responsible for the complete, end-to-end execution of complex electrical designs, ensuring the final product meets stringent aerospace and military standards. You will design high-reliability printed circuit board assemblies capable of withstanding harsh environments and compliant with relevant military standards.
The core of this position revolves around the architecture, design, and development of airborne-grade electrical hardware.
- Architecting circuits, schematic capture, PCB layout, board bring-up, debugging, and system integration.
- Converting high-level system requirements into detailed electrical hardware specifications.
- Ensuring designs strictly comply with MIL-STD-704 for power system interface, including protection against various power anomalies (voltage transients, frequency deviations).
- Manufacturing Interface:
Collaborating with fabrication houses and contract manufacturers to manage board builds, first article reviews, and the production ramp-up, with an emphasis on applying Design for Manufacturability and Design for Testability principles.
The successful candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical design for complex hardware systems.
- High-Speed Digital Design:
Extensive experience with modern high-speed interfaces like DDR3/DDR4, PCIe, USB 3.0, and Display Port. - Mixed-Signal and Embedded Systems:
Proficiency with FPGAs, SoCs, embedded systems, and the design of associated mixed-signal circuitry. - Power and Analog:
Expertise in designing analog and power circuitry specifically for aerospace-grade equipment. - Compliance and Analysis:
Proven experience in designing to MIL-STD-704 and related standards, as well as a strong ability to analyze system performance and apply corrective actions through simulation and empirical methods using standard lab equipment (oscilloscopes, power analyzers, etc.). - Design Tools:
Hands‑on proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout tools, with a preference for Altium.
Due to the nature of the work, the ability to obtain a security clearance is a prerequisite, which requires U.S. Citizenship and an on site model in their Louisville office.
