For over 75 years, we have completed many significant, historical projects, and we have an immediate opening for an ambitious Water Resources Engineer to join our team!
You can be stationed in either our Lafayette or Colorado Springs office, whichever is closest to you. The Job outline is as follows:
Required:
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
- CO PE license
- 8 or more years of progressive experience in public and private sector with water resources engineering.
Knowledge and Skills Desired:
- Rational Method and Unit Hydrology methods for calculating runoff
- Water quality, inlet/spread, and detention calculations
- Project Drainage Reports and Regional Drainage Studies
- Riverine hydraulic analysis, including floodway and scour analyses
- Bridge and culvert analysis and design
- Floodplain and floodway mapping in both CAD and GIS
- Temporary and permanent erosion control and stormwater management
- Floodplain permitting for no-rise certifications
- FEMA CLOMR and LOMR submittals
- Marketing efforts, including scope and fee preparation for proposals
- Support role in design plan preparation, specifications, and cost estimating
Models and Programs Used:
- CAD and GIS
- HEC-HMS, SWMM, Peak FQ, Stream Stats
- HY-8, Culvert Master, Flow Master, Hydraflow (in CAD)
- Geo Hec Ras , HEC-RAS
Attributes Needed:
- Report preparation experience with good technical writing skills
- Self-motivated and efficient with task and project completion
- Works well with engineers, surveyors, and technicians in multiple groups
- Ability to coordinate with various private, local, state, and federal entities on projects, as well as other consultants and subconsultants
- Good time and task management skills
