Position: Core Team Operations Representative (CTOR) Endo

Job Overview

PD (Product Development) Program Manager / Core Team Operations Representative (CTOR) is the primary operations interface to the New Product Development (NPD) Core team within Medtronic’s Endoscopy Operating Unit. The role is onsite at the Lafayette, CO campus.

Responsibilities
  • Manage operations project metrics such as predicted product costs and line yields.
  • Generate design transfer deliverables (plans and reports).
  • Work with stakeholders to set manufacturing strategy, including site selection, contract manufacturing statements of work, capacity analysis, capital planning, process validation planning/strategy, equipment supplier selection, and pilot line/scale‑up requirements.
  • Drive process development and design manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining, and material handling.
  • Design arrangement of machines within plant facilities and sequence manufacturing operations to ensure efficient layouts.
  • Ensure processes and procedures comply with regulations.
  • Lead the extended operations team to achieve on‑time and on‑budget performance throughout the new product development cycle.
  • Follow compliance processes for New Product Development.
  • Execute pre‑established operations strategies.
Communication & Influence Responsibilities
  • Serve as the voice of operations within product development.
  • Listen actively and communicate effectively in writing and speaking.
  • Lead and influence between extended operations and core teams.
  • Co‑operate and negotiate requirements to meet program outcomes.
  • Coach and develop operations team members, providing performance feedback.
  • Ensure scope, cost, resource, and schedule alignment between operations and core functions.
  • Apply structured problem‑solving methods and predictive engineering principles such as Design for Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, DFMA, DRM, and FTQ.
Autonomy & Impact

The CTOR role is responsible for medium to large‑scale programs, requiring clarity, refined planning, and execution through ambiguous situations. The candidate will own overall operations project execution and indirectly lead functions such as supply management, advanced manufacturing engineering, contract manufacturing, packaging & labeling, sterilization, global supply chain, and distribution.

Flexibility

Travel may be required—up to 25% domestic or international—to work with remote manufacturing plants.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required with a minimum of 7 years of engineering experience in manufacturing and/or product development, or an advanced degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
Nice to Have
  • Advanced degree in Engineering or an MBA.
  • Medical device product development and/or manufacturing experience with FDA, ICH, and IEC standards.
  • Experience across the entire product lifecycle.
  • DRM, DFSS, or Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
  • Proven operations experience with depth in at least one operations function.
  • Experience in a highly regulated industry (medical device, pharmaceutical, avionics, automotive).
  • Experience with manufacturing process validation and problem‑solving methodologies.
  • Project engineering or program management experience in new product development or manufacturing environments.
