The Technician IV is responsible for overseeing the lab environment and test infrastructure used in the development, verification, and validation of a complex medical device. This includes supporting both hardware and software testing activities and ensuring teams have the tools and resources they need to execute effectively. In addition to core technician duties, this role manages all test assets (capital equipment, instruments, calibrated equipment), including mechanisms for tracking, locating, and reporting on equipment status.
The Technician identifies equipment constraints, recommends and supports the purchase of new equipment, and ensures optimal utilization of lab resources.
Technicians perform electromechanical testing, which may also be conducted as needed. This position works closely with the test engineering team in a fast-paced, high-reliability environment.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
+ Manage all test assets (capital equipment, instruments, calibrated equipment), including inventory, deployment, and maintenance.
+ Develop and maintain mechanisms for tracking, locating, and reporting on equipment status (e.g., asset management systems, calibration schedules).
+ Ensure all equipment is properly calibrated, maintained, and compliant with regulatory and quality standards.
+ Identify equipment constraints, bottlenecks, and utilization issues; recommend and support the purchase of new equipment as needed.
+ Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders for equipment procurement, calibration, and repair.
+ Lead lab organization, including layout optimization, equipment storage, and workflow improvements.
+ Provide training and guidance to lab users on proper equipment use and care.
+ Support audits and inspections related to equipment and lab operations.
+ Trains, delegates, and reviews the work of lower-level employees and may be responsible for leading the daily operations of a work team
+
** Core Technician Duties:*
* + Perform functional, environmental, electrical, or mechanical testing according to approved procedures and protocols.
+ Set up and operate test equipment, fixtures, and instrumentation (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, torque tools, calipers, microscopes, etc.).
+ Accurately record test data and maintain documentation in accordance with quality and regulatory requirements.
+ Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, work instructions, and technical documentation.
+ Assist with the development, validation, and improvement of test methods and procedures.
+ Identify, document, and communicate non-conformances, defects, and test discrepancies.
+ Support root cause investigations and corrective actions for hardware or process issues.
+ Work collaboratively to meet schedule and performance goals.
+ Follow all safety, quality, and compliance guidelines, including applicable regulatory standards.
+ Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, quality, and process optimization.
** Required Knowledge and
Experience:

* + Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, mechanical assembly, integration, or test environments
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
** Nice-to-Have:*
* + Associate degree or technical certification in Electronics, Biomedical Technology, Mechanical Technology, or a related technical field, or 6+ years with a bachelor's degree.
