Surveying Cad Technician
The Survey Technician I will execute technically complex land surveying assignments. The Survey Technician will also review survey maps and documents to assess technical accuracy and compliance with local, state, and federal property laws and regulations.
Employees, Managers, and Supervisors throughout the corporation.
Major tasks include:
- Perform research of county, city, and other sources of record information on easements, deeds and other pertinent information, and utilize it to prepare working sketches for field crews.
- Utilize Trimble Business Center software to process field crew data and produce files for import into AutoCAD.
- Use field crew data files (points), field sketches, photos and reference maps to create survey base drawings.
- Utilize AutoCAD software to produce detailed subdivision maps, ALTA surveys, topographic surveys, and other various survey related maps or exhibits.
- Prepare legal descriptions and exhibits for right of way, easements, acquisition parcels, etc.
- Perform QA/QC procedures on work prepared by themselves and others.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job skill requirements include:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Thorough understanding of mathematics used in field survey analysis.
- Thorough understanding and ability to apply methods and standards of technical report writing and computer-assisted surveying applications.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret a variety of maps, title reports, and legal descriptions.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software used to draft reports and letters.
Physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, use of hands, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, hearing, lifting up to 25 pounds, and specific vision abilities.
Mental demands include concentrating, conceptualizing, teamwork, detailed work, task changes, irregular schedule, learning new tasks, reasoning, problem-solving, and time pressures.
Standard work schedule is Monday-Friday from 6am-7pm, but the specific schedule for this role will be based on location and department.
Work authorization/security clearance is required to work in the United States.
Travel to worksites may be required.
