Project Scheduler
The Project Scheduler will own all scheduling activities across complex engineering and manufacturing programs in a highly regulated, nuclear-grade environment. You will develop and maintain resource-loaded and cost-loaded schedules in Oracle Primavera P6, partnering closely with engineering, procurement, fabrication, quality, and project management teams. This role offers the opportunity to become the scheduling subject matter expert, directly influence high-visibility programs, and broaden your exposure to project controls, earned value management, and customer-facing scheduling in advanced technology settings.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using Oracle Primavera P6, ensuring they are both resource-loaded and cost-loaded.
- Create integrated CPM (Critical Path Method) timelines that align engineering deliverables, procurement activities, fabrication timelines, quality milestones, and customer requirements.
- Identify and manage critical path activities, forecast potential delays, and support the development and execution of schedule recovery plans.
- Perform schedule analysis, including variance reporting, schedule health checks, and milestone tracking to support project performance and decision-making.
- Coordinate project schedules with customer master schedules to maintain alignment on key dates, milestones, and deliverables.
- Support project controls functions by tracking schedule performance, variances, and milestones, and assist with earned value management (EVM) reporting when required.
- Build executable schedules that accurately forecast staffing needs, labor allocation, and project costs, ensuring realistic resource and cost loading.
- Independently own and manage multiple project schedules with minimal training, delivering immediate productivity and reliable schedule data.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, fabrication, quality, and project leadership teams to gather inputs, validate assumptions, and maintain schedule integrity.
- Prepare and present schedule updates, forecasts, and progress reports to internal stakeholders and external customers in a clear and professional manner.
- Use Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project to support scheduling, reporting, and data analysis activities as needed.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of scheduling processes, tools, and standards within a growing advanced technology organization.
Essential
Skills:
- Strong, hands-on experience with Oracle Primavera P6, with the ability to build and maintain resource-loaded and cost-loaded schedules with minimal training and immediate productivity.
- Proven ability to independently create, maintain, and own CPM schedules from Day 1, without extensive onboarding or supervision.
- Experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, industrial, defense, energy, construction, or other technical project environments.
- Demonstrated experience performing schedule analysis, forecasting, and variance reporting in complex project settings.
- Proficiency in developing integrated project timelines and identifying critical path activities to support schedule risk management and recovery planning.
- Solid understanding of project controls concepts, including schedule performance, milestones, and schedule health metrics.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and schedule-related calculations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project for scheduling and timeline management.
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external customers, translating complex schedule information into clear, actionable insights.
- Ability to work 100% onsite in Lafayette, CO.
- Eligibility to work on regulated technical programs that may require U.S. citizenship.
Additional Skills &
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related technical field.
- Experience in nuclear industry projects or nuclear-grade manufacturing environments.
- Experience supporting defense or government projects, including DOE or DOD programs.
- Exposure to earned value management (EVM) practices and reporting.
