Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by applying technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice, and coordination of care with other health team members.
Essential Functions- Assess:
Performs appropriate assessment of physical, social, and psychological status (including cognitive, communicative, and developmental skills as appropriate). Seeks and evaluates information from other interdisciplinary team members including patient, family, physician, and non‑nursing disciplines. - Plan:
Uses assessment information and critical thinking to collaboratively develop individualized plans. Actively seeks patient, family, team, and physician involvement; prepares patients for further support, including education, referrals, and follow‑up once current episode outcomes are met. - Implement:
Directs the interdisciplinary team via delegation, coordination, and collaboration. Provides or delegates care consistent with the plan and professional licensure; sets priorities and manages time, supplies, and resources. - Evaluate:
Assesses patient responses to interventions, reviews achievement of goals, and evaluates clinical outcomes and satisfaction. Revises plans and reassesses as needed. - Professionalism:
Promotes the nursing profession and contributes to others’ development; integrates legal and ethical standards, complies with regulations, practices within scope, documents accurately and timely, and understands legal implications.

- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice; compact licenses transferred within 60 days of employment.
- For RNs with less than 12 months experience: must obtain Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four years of hire.
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
- BSN required as of 4/27/2025. Employees hired or promoted before that date will be held to prior minimums.
- Eye, hearing, and manual dexterity for assessment, monitoring, and documentation.
- Ability to communicate and understand spoken information quickly, especially during emergencies.
- Manual dexterity for operating detailed equipment and typing; lift, transfer, and move patients and supplies.
- Capable of walking and assisting ambulation, pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment.
- Possibly survive extended periods standing.
- For driving roles: able to drive while seeing and reading traffic signs and signals.

Work Hours & CompensationScheduled weekly hours: 24. Hourly rate: $37.17 - $56.17 (actual rate depends on experience).
