Under the direction of the Recreation Supervisor of Operations, the Recreation Coordinator of Operations coordinates and supports the guest service and daily operations of the Bob L. Burger Recreation Center. This position provides hands‑on leadership and training for employees in facility operations, guest service, and risk management.

Knowledge:
Thorough knowledge of recreation facility operations and risk management, departmental policies, and procedures governing recreation centers. Considerable understanding of staff supervision, hiring, training, and evaluation methods; budgeting, purchasing, and administrative recordkeeping; and customer service and public relations techniques. Working knowledge of health and safety standards related to recreation facilities, including CPR/AED, first aid, and emergency response; and proficiency in recreation management software such as Rec Trac, along with standard computer applications used for scheduling, communication, and reporting.
Skills: Skilled in providing excellent customer service and maintaining positive community relations; communicating effectively both verbally and in writing; leading, motivating, and supporting a diverse workforce; and managing multiple projects and priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
Abilities: Ability to manage daily operations of a full‑service recreation center; recruit, train, schedule, and supervise operations personnel; assist with budget preparation, purchasing, and financial tracking for facility operations; and develop and implement operational procedures to ensure safety, efficiency, and quality. Ability to evaluate facility utilization, facility use, staff performance and make recommendations for improvement; interpret and enforce City and departmental policies in a consistent and fair manner;
and exercise sound judgment and initiative in resolving problems and making decisions. Must be able to adapt to changing priorities, facility needs, and seasonal demands; establish and maintain effective working relationships with co‑workers, other departments and divisions, outside agencies, and the public; and respond effectively to operational issues and emergencies.
