Position
Sr. EHS Specialist

This leadership role will drive environmental compliance strategy, strengthen management systems, and champion sustainability initiatives that support both regulatory excellence and business performance.
Environmental Compliance & Risk Management- Lead environmental compliance operations aligned with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Develop and implement practical, sustainable standards and processes integrated into daily manufacturing operations.
- Oversee air emissions, wastewater and stormwater management, hazardous and non-hazardous waste, recycling programs, and chemical management.
- Prepare and submit environmental permits, modifications, and required regulatory reports.
- Maintain accurate environmental records within the company’s EHS management system.
- Conduct inspections (SPCC, SWPPP, hazardous waste storage) and collect regulated stormwater, wastewater, and waste samples.
- Provide environmental oversight for demolition, facility modifications, and new product introductions.
- Lead sustainability initiatives focused on landfill reduction, energy performance, and long‑term environmental impact.
- Perform internal environmental audits and proactively identify improvement opportunities.
- Utilize data analytics to evaluate environmental performance, identify trends, and mitigate risks.
- Lead and support environmental incident investigations, ensuring root causes are identified and preventive measures are implemented.
- Directly manage and develop three team members supporting wastewater treatment and facility waste operations.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and coaching to strengthen compliance performance.
- Partner with regulatory agencies, plant leadership, and cross‑functional teams to maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
- Participate in regulatory meetings and environmental steering committees as needed.
- Maintain expertise in applicable environmental laws and regulatory requirements.
- Implement and enhance environmental management systems to ensure sustainable compliance.
- Support change management initiatives and drive measurable performance improvements.
- Contribute to enterprise‑wide best practice sharing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations within a manufacturing environment.
- Deep expertise in air compliance, including NESHAP/MACT, NSPS, NSR/PSD, construction permitting, and reporting requirements.
- Working knowledge of stormwater, wastewater, hazardous and non‑hazardous waste, SPCC, EPCRA (Tier II/TRI), TSCA, ODS, and HMT requirements.
- Experience in contractor management, budgeting, and change management processes.
- Proven ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement sustainable solutions.
- Strong leadership, project‑management, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining compliance deadlines.
- Experience responding to environmental or safety emergencies.
- BS or BA Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Occupational Safety & Health, or related discipline/experience.
- 5+ years of relevant EHS experience in a manufacturing setting.
- 3‑5 years of EHS experience leading and implementing environmental compliance, and risk management programs with proven sustainable results.
- CHMM or related certification.
- Experience with industrial wastewater treatment plants and/or wastewater operator certification.
- Knowledge of NPDES permitting; ISO 14001; advanced computer skills, including substantial data analysis skills.
- Six Sigma Green Belt certified.
