Controller, Accounting, Accounting Manager

LHH Recruitment Solutions (pka Parker+Lynch) is partnering with a well‑established, family‑owned midsized retailer in the Lafayette area seeking a Controller to lead day‑to‑day accounting operations across multiple entities. This is a highly visible, hands‑on role supporting executive leadership and helping modernize processes within a growing, evolving environment.

• Oversee all accounting operations including GL, AP/AR, payroll, and financial reporting
• Lead month‑end close and prepare accurate, timely financial statements
• Maintain and improve internal controls, processes, and reporting accuracy
• Review account reconciliations, schedules, and balance sheet integrity
• Manage cash flow, banking activity, and working capital
• Supervise and develop accounting team members across multiple functions
• Partner with operational leaders to review financial performance and identify trends
• Support audits, tax coordination, and external reporting requirements
• Assist with system improvements, process documentation, and workflow efficiencies
• Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Experience supervising/leading accounting staff
• Process improvement experience
• CPA preferred
• Foundation in public accounting in audit preferred
