Interim Accounting Manager
Location: Indianapolis or Lafayette, IN (Hybrid - 2-3 days onsite per week)
Duration: 6-7 Month Contract
Target Start: Early August
Korn Ferry Interim is partnering with a leading manufacturing organization to identify an experienced Interim Accounting Manager
. This engagement offers the opportunity to make an immediate impact by supporting core accounting operations while driving process improvements within a complex, multi-site manufacturing environment.
The organization is seeking a hands‑on accounting professional who can contribute to the month‑end close process while leading initiatives to improve inter‑company accounting and streamline financial processes. This is an individual contributor role best suited for someone who enjoys working in the details, solving operational challenges, and implementing practical, sustainable improvements.
The consultant will report directly to senior finance leadership and work closely with both corporate and plant accounting teams.
Key Responsibilities- Support monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close activities.
- Perform general ledger accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
- Lead the review and cleanup of inter‑company accounting transactions.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reduce manual effort.
- Partner with finance teams across multiple locations to enhance close and reporting processes.
- Assist with accounting projects focused on standardization and operational efficiency.
- Work within a multi‑ERP environment to improve consistency and accuracy of financial data.
- Provide hands‑on accounting support while driving continuous process improvements.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Experience performing at an Accounting Manager level.
- Manufacturing industry experience.
- Strong inter‑company accounting experience.
- Demonstrated success improving accounting processes and workflows.
- Experience supporting month‑end close and general accounting functions.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while partnering effectively with cross‑functional teams.
- Ability to work onsite 2‑3 days per week in either Indianapolis or Lafayette, Indiana.
- Experience with SAP and/or AS400.
- Experience working in a multi‑site manufacturing environment.
- Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to balance strategic thinking and hands‑on execution.

They are comfortable navigating complex accounting environments, have a strong understanding of inter‑company transactions, and possess a process improvement mindset.
