Accounting Specialist
Our client, a dynamic organization in the property management industry, is seeking a dedicated Accounting Specialist to join their team. As an Accounting Specialist, you will be part of the Accounting department supporting the finance team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach, which will align successfully in the organization.
Location:
Lafayette, IN
Pay Range: $17-19 (BOE)
Shift: 8:00 am or 8:30 am (depending on length of lunch break) to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday
What's the Job?
- Support accurate preparation, maintenance, and reporting of financial records in accordance with GAAP and company policies
- Process accounts payable invoices, verify account coding, and facilitate vendor setup and payments
- Manage accounts receivable collections, including communication with tenants and payment plan negotiations
- Reconcile accounts, prepare journal entries, and ensure the accuracy of financial data
- Assist with month-end reporting, vendor administration, and payment processing activities
What's Needed?
- High school diploma or equivalent, with accounting coursework; associate degree preferred
- Three to five years of related accounting and accounts receivable experience
- Proficiency with accounting and property-management software such as App Folio, Quick Books, or Yardi
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently
