Position Summary

The Lafayette School Corporation (LSC) is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teacher for Grades 7–8 to join the instructional team at Tecumseh Junior High School for the 2026–2027 school year. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality, standards-aligned science instruction to students in grades 7–8
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that support inquiry-based learning
  • Assess student progress and use data to guide instruction
  • Create a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff
  • Communicate effectively with students and families
  • Participate in professional development and school improvement initiatives
  • Uphold all district policies, state regulations, and professional standards
Qualifications
  • Required: Valid Indiana teaching license appropriate for Science instruction in grades 7–8
  • Preferred Consideration:
    • Candidates enrolled in a state-approved Transition to Teaching program
    • Candidates eligible for an Emergency Permit in Science, with demonstrated content knowledge
