This is a 1.0 FTE Kindergarten Teacher position at Earhart Elementary for the school year. Applicants must hold a valid Indiana Elementary Generalist (K
6) or Early Childhood Education (P
3) license. Applicants who are in an approved Transition to Teaching program or who are eligible for an Emergency Permit in Elementary Education will also be considered.

Earhart Elementary School is located on the south side of Lafayette, approximately one hour north of downtown Indianapolis and two hours south of downtown Chicago along I-65 in west-central Indiana. Position Summary
The Lafayette School Corporation is seeking a passionate, nurturing, and highly effective educator to serve as a Kindergarten Teacher at Earhart Elementary School for the school year.
The Kindergarten Teacher plays a critical role in shaping each child's first formal school experience by creating a warm, engaging, and structured classroom environment where students feel safe, valued, and excited to learn. The successful candidate will provide developmentally appropriate, standards-based instruction that builds foundational skills in early literacy, mathematics, social-emotional development, and positive classroom behaviors.
The ideal candidate is a creative and student-centered educator who fosters curiosity, independence, and a love of learning. This teacher will use a variety of instructional strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners, collaborate closely with colleagues and families, and monitor student progress to ensure each child reaches their full potential.

Qualifications
- Valid Indiana Elementary Generalist (K
6) or Early Childhood Education (P
3) teaching license - Candidates enrolled in an approved Transition to Teaching program or eligible for an Emergency Permit in Elementary Education will be considered
- High-level fluency in Spanish, including:
- Native speaking ability
- Strong reading and writing skills in Spanish
- Ability to deliver academic content in Spanish
- Knowledge of dual language immersion instructional practices preferred
- Understanding of language acquisition and strategies for multilingual learners
- Strong classroom management, collaboration, and communication skills
- Deliver standards-aligned instruction in Spanish and English within a dual language immersion framework
- Promote bilingualism, biliteracy, and cultural competency among students
- Use data to inform instruction and support student achievement
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Collaborate with grade-level teams and support staff
- Maintain effective communication with families in both English and Spanish
- Participate in ongoing professional development
