Position Summary
This is a 1.0 FTE Language Arts teacher position for grades 7 and 8 at Tecumseh Junior High School for the school year. Applicants must hold a valid Indiana teaching license in Language Arts for grades 7–8. Preference will be given to candidates enrolled in a state‑approved Transition to Teaching program or who are eligible for an Emergency Permit in Science, provided they possess the requisite content knowledge.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Deliver high‑quality, standards‑aligned Language Arts instruction to students in grades 7–8
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that support inquiry‑based learning
- Assess student progress and use data to guide instruction
- Create a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment
- Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff
- Communicate effectively with students and families
- Participate in professional development and school improvement initiatives
- Uphold all district policies, state regulations, and professional standards
- Required: Valid Indiana teaching license appropriate for Language Arts instruction in grades 7–8
- Preferred:
- Candidates enrolled in a state‑approved Transition to Teaching program
- Candidates eligible for an Emergency Permit in Science, with demonstrated content knowledge
