Position Title: Preschool Lead Instructor
Location: Little Bronchos Preschool Program, Linnwood Early Childhood Center
Hours: 40 Hours per Week (while school is in session)
Wage: Starting at $22.15 per Hour

The Lafayette School Corporation (LSC) is seeking a caring, energetic, and highly organized Preschool Lead Instructor to serve in the Little Bronchos Preschool Program at Linnwood Early Childhood Center. The Preschool Lead Instructor plays a critical role in creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for preschool-aged children while providing leadership and support to classroom staff.

This position serves as the primary point of contact for families and works closely with building administration to ensure the successful operation of the preschool program. The Preschool Lead Instructor is responsible for classroom instruction, student supervision, compliance with health and safety requirements, and fostering positive relationships with children, families, and staff.

Linnwood Early Childhood Center is dedicated to providing high-quality early childhood experiences that prepare children for future academic and social success through meaningful learning, exploration, and play.

Qualifications

Candidates must possess:
  • An Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Development or a Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential
  • Completion of 20 hours of Early Childhood Online Training (or willingness to complete required training upon hire)
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with young children and families
  • Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills
Essential Responsibilities

The Preschool Lead Instructor will:
  • Establish and enforce age-appropriate classroom expectations and behavioral standards
  • Ensure the safety, supervision, and well-being of children at all times
  • Provide for students' basic care needs, including toileting assistance, changing pull-ups, and assisting with meals and snacks
  • Create and maintain a positive, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Adapt instructional methods and materials to meet individual student needs, interests, and learning styles
  • Plan and facilitate engaging learning experiences through play, exploration, songs, games, storytelling, and other developmentally appropriate activities
  • Support children in reaching developmental milestones across academic, social, emotional, and physical domains
  • Collaborate with program staff to implement lesson plans and instructional activities
  • Foster positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
  • Serve as the primary contact for families regarding student progress and classroom communication
  • Conduct and participate in two parent-teacher conferences annually
  • Monitor and communicate student progress through conferences and approved communication platforms
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, sanitation, and licensing requirements
  • Maintain inventory and organization of classroom materials and supplies
  • Complete all required training within 60 days of hire
  • Provide guidance, direction, and support to Preschool Paraprofessionals assigned to the program
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the building administrator
