Nursing Faculty Position
This is a 12-month full-time faculty position responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging instruction across multiple formats, including classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings within nursing programs. The faculty member supports student success through effective teaching, advising, and engagement; contributes to curriculum development and program management; and actively participates in institutional initiatives, community service, and professional development. This role fully supports the College's mission, strategic plan, and student retention and completion goals.
InstructionDeliver assigned classes, labs, and clinicals using effective pedagogy and technology in alignment with college loading policy, course objectives, and program learning outcomes. Develop, maintain, and continuously improve curriculum, including course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, assessments, and instructional materials. Facilitate student achievement of program learning outcomes through effective teaching and assessment strategies. Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, grades, and required documentation.
Create and maintain a safe and effective learning environment across classroom, lab, and clinical settings, adhering to all federal, state, and college safety standards. Manage lab/clinical resources including equipment, supplies, inventory, and maintenance. Utilize the Learning Management System to support teaching, learning, communication, and assessment.
Provide academic advising, coaching, and monitoring for assigned students in collaboration with advising staff. Monitor and document student performance, using early alert systems and other tools to identify and support at-risk students. Implement timely interventions, including communication, tutoring referrals, and connection to campus resources. Maintain scheduled office hours and student engagement hours in accordance with faculty workload policies. Assist with student recruitment, enrollment, retention, and program completion through outreach and engagement efforts.
ProfessionalDevelopment
Participate in ongoing professional development activities such as training, workshops, seminars, industry engagement, and self-directed learning. Engage in scholarly and discipline-related activities to maintain licensure, certification, and subject matter expertise. Stay current in nursing practice, instructional methodologies, and educational technologies that support student learning.
Community Relations and ServiceParticipate in community service activities that strengthen relationships between the college and its service area. Develop and maintain partnerships with healthcare providers, industry, and community organizations to support program growth and student opportunities.
Institutional Support and Program ManagementSupport institutional initiatives including accreditation, curriculum development, committee participation, and special projects. Participate in college, campus, and departmental meetings, as well as commencement and other official events. Support Development/Foundation initiatives as appropriate. Assist Career Services and alumni engagement efforts. Support the Program Chair in program management activities. Adhere to all institutional policies, procedures, and faculty performance expectations.
Additional ResponsibilitiesAssist with student recruitment and enrollment initiatives. Maintain knowledge and use of current technologies relevant to nursing education. Perform other duties as assigned that are consistent with the role.
Compensation: $75,000-$85,000 annual based on education and experience.
Minimum Qualifications- Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) from a regionally accredited institution.
- Unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana or eligibility for licensure.
- Minimum of two (2) years of directly related work experience.
- Candidates with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) may be considered if an MSN candidate is not available. If hired, the candidate must commit to completing an MSN within five (5) years under an approved educational plan and demonstrate consistent progress toward completion of the degree requirements.
- Experience in Nursing education, acute care, bedside, medical-surgical nursing preferred.
