Adjunct Faculty positions are temporary, part‑time positions hired each semester on an as‑needed basis. The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by the School. This position and the posting will stay open continuously in order to build a pool of qualified candidates for future openings as Adjunct Instructors.

Applicants will not be notified unless there is an actual need to fill the position or if the candidate does not meet minimum requirements.

PROGRAM OPERATION
  • Perform all instructional duties necessary to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes.
  • Provide syllabus appropriate to course(s) being taught to students and follow syllabus content and requirements.
  • Maintain student attendance and grading records according to College policy as outlined in the Adjunct Handbook.
  • Submit requested information within established timelines.
STUDENTS
  • Be available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions and provide assistance.
  • Deal with student concerns and, if necessary, consult with program coordinator to resolve issues.
INSTRUCTION
  • Meet all scheduled classes of contracted course(s).
  • Use technology such as Ivy Learn (Canvas), Outlook, Microsoft Office Suite, etc. as appropriate.
  • In event of emergency absence, notify program/department chair.
TECHNICAL AND ACCREDITATION REQUIREMENTS

Must have strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to area of instruction, faculty credentials as outlined in the ASOM 7.1 as applicable to the specific area of instruction.

QUALIFICATIONS – BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION
  • Possesses an earned master’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution in business administration, public administration, management, marketing, or a business‑administration‑related field as appropriate to the course and/or specialty being taught.
  • Possesses a related or out‑of‑field master’s degree, from a regionally accredited institution, with documented 18 semester hours or equivalent of courses in business administration, public administration, management, marketing, or a business‑administration‑related field as appropriate to the course and/or specialty being taught beyond the introductory principle(s) level.
  • Possesses a bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, management, marketing, or a business‑administration‑related field from a regionally accredited institution, with documentation in two or more areas of:
  • Professional certification (national, regional or state) in the field.
  • Two years of in‑field professional employment.
  • Documented evidence of teaching excellence, including date of award.
  • Documentation of research and publication in the field.
  • Documented relevant additional coursework beyond the bachelor’s degree, equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent subject matter coursework, SEU’s, vendor, or military.

Selected candidate for employment will be subject to pre‑employment background checks, including criminal history check, and any offer of employment will be contingent upon that outcome.

Day, evening and/or Saturday classes.

Position requires traditional classroom instruction. Applicants must be able to teach weekly on‑campus courses in Lafayette or Crawfordsville, Indiana.
