Adjunct Faculty Position
General Purpose and Scope of the Position:
Adjunct Faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions hired each semester on an as-needed basis. The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for delivering OSHA 10-Hour and/or 30-Hour Outreach Training in General Industry and/or Construction to workforce and industry partners within the Lafayette Campus service area, creating a learning environment that assists participants in reaching their safety training and certification goals, and providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of curricula provided by Ivy+ Career Link.
Major Responsibilities:
- Deliver non-credit OSHA 10-Hour and/or 30-Hour Outreach Training classes in General Industry and/or Construction, as assigned, in accordance with OSHA Outreach Training Program requirements.
- Teach and train classes as assigned at campus locations or at employer sites, as contracted, within programming designed to meet specific company learning objectives.
- Teaching and training will utilize contemporary adult learning techniques as demonstrated in the corporate training arena.
- Teaching load is dictated by project or projects, not credit hour production.
- Work a flexible schedule as dictated by client company training demand, including potential evening, weekend, or on-site employer locations across the Lafayette Campus service area.
- Travel to employer sites throughout the service area as needed for contracted training delivery.
- Maintain accurate records on student attendance, completion, DOL wallet card issuance, and other required documentation in compliance with OSHA Outreach Training Program recordkeeping standards.
- Develop and update materials as necessary for effective delivery of OSHA 10/30-Hour curriculum in the assigned track(s), ensuring alignment with current OSHA standards and regulatory updates.
- Initiate and follow through on evaluation processes that determine the viability and effectiveness of each training program delivered.
- Assist in the identification of facility and equipment needs for classroom and hands-on training components, whether on campus or at employer sites.
- Participate in training and professional development as needed, including maintaining Outreach Trainer authorization currency.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Current OSHA Outreach Trainer authorization in General Industry and/or Construction (per applicable curriculum track), issued through the OSHA Training Institute (OTI) or an OTI Education Center. Candidates holding authorization in only one track are welcome to apply and will be assigned accordingly.
- Strong working knowledge of current OSHA standards and safety practices appropriate to the area of instruction.
- Faculty credentials as outlined in ASOM 7.1 as applicable to the specific area of instruction.
- Expertise in occupational safety topics assigned, with the ability to convey information effectively to adult learners.
- Experience with classroom technology, as needed; ability to create a learning environment that supports student and participant success.
- Ability and willingness to travel to employer sites within the Lafayette Campus service area (Benton, Carroll, Clinton, Fountain, Montgomery, Newton, Tippecanoe, Warren, and White counties) as training contracts require.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Dual authorization in both General Industry and Construction Outreach Training.
- Prior experience delivering OSHA Outreach Training in an industry, corporate, or community college setting.
- Additional safety-related certifications (e.g., First Aid/CPR instructor, industry-specific safety credentials).
- Experience working with manufacturing, construction, or industrial employer partners.
- Reliable transportation for travel between campus and employer sites across the service area.
Other Requirements:
Selected candidate for employment will be subject to pre-employment background checks, including criminal history check, and any offer of employment will be contingent upon that outcome. Copies of transcripts and current OSHA Outreach Trainer authorization (General Industry and/or Construction) may be required at time of interview.
Working Hours:
Hours varied. Must be flexible in schedule. Training will be delivered on the Lafayette Campus or at employer sites throughout Benton, Carroll, Clinton, Fountain, Montgomery, Newton, Tippecanoe, Warren, and White counties, as contracted.
