This is a 1.0 FTE 4th Grade Teacher position at Edgelea Elementary School for the  school year. Applicants must hold a valid Indiana Elementary Generalist (K–6) license. Applicants who are in an approved Transition to Teaching program or who are eligible for an Emergency Permit in Elementary Education will also be considered. External candidates should complete a certified application through the employment link on the Lafayette School Corporation (LSC) website.

Current LSC teachers on a regular teaching contract may apply for transfer by submitting an internal application through Appli Track, accessible via the LSC employment page, no later than 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21, 2026.

Position Summary

The Lafayette School Corporation is seeking a highly effective, student-centered educator to serve as a 4th Grade Teacher at Edgelea Elementary School for the 2026–2027 school year.

Qualifications
  • Candidates enrolled in an approved Transition to Teaching program or eligible for an Emergency Permit in Elementary Education will be considered
  • Strong knowledge of Indiana Academic Standards and best instructional practices
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Effective classroom management and communication skills
  • Commitment to collaboration and continuous professional growth
  • Experience integrating technology into instruction preferred
  • Deliver high-quality instruction in all core academic subjects for 3rd grade students
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
  • Assess student learning and use data to guide instruction
  • Differentiate instruction to support varying student needs and abilities
  • Collaborate with grade-level teams, instructional coaches, and support staff
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and classroom activities
