Position Overview
Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Location:
Arnett Hospital
Work Model:
Hybrid (3 days onsite required)
Residence Requirement:
Must live in Indiana
This role supports Design & Construction (D&C) projects by coordinating reviews, tracking progress, and ensuring alignment across teams, contractors, and stakeholders. Responsibilities span from early project development through closeout, with a focus on documentation, safety, scheduling, and compliance with IU Health standards.
Key Activities Include- Coordinating project reviews and meetings
- Reviewing drawings, pay applications, and change orders
- Conducting field walks and documenting progress
- Cross-referencing progress against payment applications
- Assisting with project closeout processes
- Creating and tracking punch lists
- Supporting schedule reviews
- Attending owner/architect/contractor meetings
- Collecting project data and updating progress metrics
- Reviewing project safety
- Supporting communication of patient and staff impacts
- Conducting equipment reviews
- Tracking and reporting procurement status
- Tracking project progress and updating key metrics
- Preplanning activities and project documentation review
- Daily collaboration with: D&C team members
- Contracted firms
- Regional departments and cross-functional teams
- Ability to multi-task and problem-solve
- Strong tracking and reporting capabilities
Proficiency in MS Office - Experience with Trimble and Oracle
The role provides project management and design research support for projects ranging from $100,000 to $3 million. It assists the Project Manager with multiple projects at various stages, supporting tasks such as contract specifications, quality assurance, and reporting. The position contributes to project designs that prioritize patient, staff, visitor, and construction worker safety while aligning with IU Health’s mission to support whole-person care—mind, body, and spirit.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is required.
Healthcare-specific certification preferred.
- Experience:
Entry-level candidates who meet the education requirements up to those with 3 years of relevant healthcare project experience will be considered. - Knowledge Requirements:
- Understanding of project or construction management principles
- Familiarity with business terminology and contracting methodologies
- Basic financial or cost-control skills related to project management
- Regulatory Knowledge:
- Ability to apply and interpret relevant regulations and codes, including: NFPA Life Safety Code
- Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) regulations
- AIA Guidelines for the Design and Construction of Health Care Facilities
- LEED standards
- International Building Code (IBC)
- Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
